The final product!

This house only took us 2.5 months to gut and renovate! When we purchased it originally we planned to put it on the market as soon as we got back from our Summer holiday in Europe.  In the end we have fallen in love with it and now we want to hold on to it for a year or so. We love boating and this house is right on the Intracoastal, it only takes us 45 minutes to get to the ocean from here!  Now, our mission is to find investors to buy and sell our third house. If we can't make it happen then we will sell this house but hopefully we can enjoy it a little longer!

The Kitchen

We designed the kitchen at Ikea.  They were having a huge sale on the their kitchen cabinets and appliances and it ended up being cheaper than buying used cabinets and appliances on craigslist. We spent $3,700 on the cabinets and all of the appliances have a 5 year warranty.  So awesome!! We then decided to go with granite which was additional $1,300 and the sink and faucet around $300.  The total only came to $5,300 for a completely NEW kitchen.

The only downfall to the getting a great deal at IKEA is that the kitchen came in 128 boxes...YIKES!

Porcelain Tile Installation

We flew my Dad down here to help us with this house again because this was our first time laying tile and my Dad has done it numerous times.  Tiling a house is so much easier than laying wood floors and it's great that it will never scratch (we learned with our bamboo floors on the last house that the bamboo scratches really easily). The tile was really easy to install and despite the reviews saying that porcelain chips easy. We rented the tile saw from Home Depot and purchased the 20" porcelain tile from Floor & Decor. We tiled the ENTIRE house with the same tile and it looks gorgeous! The total cost was $1,475 for 1150 sq ft of tile and supplies.

Demolition!

Demolition on this house was much easier than the last. The only difficult part of the house to demolish was the bathroom. The tiles were EXTREMELY difficult to remove.

Sass isn't liking demo day!

We only filled one 20 cu ft dumpster this time.  Total cost to haul away all of this was $300.
