Demolition

The first day after we bought the house we began to gut it, starting with ripping the existing paneling and drywall from every corner of the house. We also lifted up all of the gross carpets from the living room and bedrooms. Then after 3 days of demolition we stripped the entire roof – there were 4 layers of shingles to tear off. That was the hardest day I had ever worked in my life! We were able to get a 20 cubic foot dumpster for $325 total. My Dad arrived on Wednesday night and he was our foreman. We began to do hang drywall on Saturday & Sunday but we didn’t finish this week. Attila’s Dad and Frank came down on Saturday they helped us as well. Attila’s Dad ran all new pipes in the kitchen and Frank moved our fence for us… THANK YOU!!! We ran into a small problem with the city and received a violation to stop work because we didn’t get a permit for the roof…oops;-) We found a great company to do replace the entire roof for us for $1500 with a permit. This was all in the first two weeks and just the beginning of the learning curves.
